Historical Christmas Table at Hillsborough Castle

Set in the village of Hillsborough in County Down, Hillsborough Castle is an elegant Georgian house with a remarkable history. Originally built as a private family home for the Hill family in the 18th century, the house later became an important political residence and, in 1925, the official residence of the Governor of Northern Ireland. Today, Hillsborough Castle is a royal residence and part of Historic Royal Palaces, with its beautiful interiors and gardens telling stories of family life, politics, diplomacy and royal visits

Handmade replica dishes—from sculpted jellies to a traditional game pie, salmon en croûte and a whole turkey—brought the grandeur of Hillsborough Castle’s country-house dining table to life.
